The Japan EMF Information Center (JEIC) believes it to be an important social responsibility to handle personal data appropriately and to take measures to protect such data. In fulfilling this responsibility,
JEIC complies with relevant laws and regulations and manages personal data in accordance with the following policy.
1.Acquiring and Using Personal Data
When acquiring personal data, JEIC will do so through legitimate and appropriate means and procedures. JEIC will also specify the purpose of use of the personal data it has acquired, within the scope necessary for the smooth and proper management of JEIC's operations.
Purpose of Using Personal Data
Some specific purposes for using personal data held by JEIC are listed below.
JEIC uses personal data within the necessary scope to carry out activities related to the projects listed below. These activities include:
- Mailing surveys, informational materials, advertisements, etc.
- Responding to inquiries, applications, and related matters.
- Providing information via email newsletters, direct mail, telephone, home visits, etc.
- Conducting questionnaire surveys and other ancillary tasks related to these activities.
If you prefer not to receive questionnaires, email newsletters, direct mail, or other materials related to these projects from JEIC, please inform us, and we will discontinue sending them.
2.Measures for Safety Management and Ensuring Data Accuracy
JEIC will carry out measures to prevent the loss, destruction, falsification, or leakage of personal data in its possession, as well as any other necessary measures for the appropriate management of personal data.
Additionally, JEIC will strive to ensure the accuracy of personal data by corroborating it with past or present facts, within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use.
3.Measures for Subcontractors
JEIC entrusts some of its operations to subcontractors, and sometimes provides personal data to those subcontractors within the necessary limits. In such cases, JEIC takes rigorous measures to ensure proper handling of personal data, including:
- Explicitly stipulating requirements related to the appropriate handling of personal data in entrustment contracts.
- Enforcing safety management measures.
- Requiring improvements when necessary.
These measures aim to ensure that JEIC's subcontractors establish appropriate systems for managing personal data. Similar precautions will be applied to workers and other personnel assigned to other sites under secondment contracts.
4.Disclosure and Provision of Personal Data to Third Parties
JEIC will not supply the personal data in its possession to third parties, except under the following circumstances.
- When the consent of the person in question has been obtained.
- When provision is necessary to protect human life, limb or property, and when the consent of the person is difficult to obtain.
- When information is provided to work subcontractors within the limitations necessary to achieve the purpose of use.
- In other cases when the disclosure or provision of information to third parties is permitted by law.
5.Disclosure of Personal Data
Upon receiving a request for disclosure of personal data, and confirming the request is from the individual in question, JEIC will disclose the information without delay in accordance with laws and regulations. However, JEIC may not disclose information in the following cases.
- When disclosure could harm the life, limb, property or other rights or interests of the person in question or a third party.
- When disclosure could cause significant hindrance to the proper management of the JEIC's operations.
- When disclosure would be in violation of laws and regulations.
6.Alteration, Deletion, Discontinuation of Use, etc.
Upon receiving a request to alter, delete, discontinue use, or otherwise change personal data in its possession, having confirmed that the request is from the actual person in question, JEIC will modify, delete, discontinue the use of, or otherwise update the data without delay in accordance with laws and regulations.
7.Improvements to Personal Data Protection
JEIC will continuously review its personal data protection measures and take steps to improve them.
8.Use of Google Analytics
